SC 2001, the international conference for high performance computing and communications, convend in Denver, Colorado on 10-16 November with seven days of technical programs, technological demonstrations and exhibits, for the over 5000 attendees that gathered at the Denver Convention Center.

ApGrid has made exhibition and demonstrations at the research exhibition. This could be the first collaborative activities in the Asia Pacific Partnership and the exhibits could show the attractive Grid activities within Asia Pacific countries for the visitors.

At the SC 2001 conference, the event called SC Global was provided. SC Global is the first truly global technical conference on the Grid: a multi-national and multi-cultural meeting place for communication and discussion of ideas relating to high-end computing and communications and its impacts on science and society. The SC Global event used Access Grid technology to link the SC Core at the Denver Convention Center with dozens of SC Constellation Sites.

On the ApGrid testbed, several Access Grid nodes have already been available in some countries. As one of the inaugural events of establishment of the ApGrid, ApGrid planned to hold a panel involving representatives from some participating nations in the ApGrid. The title of the panel is "Can the Asia Pacific Grid contribute to the Science and Technology in Asia Pacific region?". In this panel, Denver, Sydney VisLab, and AIST was connected through the Access Grid. The panel was successfully completed
